He started his publishing career at the\nage of 27, when he took over the Greek financial monthly magazine \u201cKefalaio\u201d\n(\u201cCapital\u201d). In 1993 he co-founded \u201cCapital Trade Shows\u201d, a company that\norganized the annual \u201cExecutive Cars\u201d show, as well as the \u201c1st International\nCar Show\u201d in Greece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1994 he founded\nAttica Publications SA and acquired the rights to publish in Greece the monthly\nwomen\u2019s magazine Madame Figaro which signaled the beginning of a very\nsuccessful publishing course. The big success of Madame Figaro made Playboy\nEnterprises confide to Theo Filippopoulos their title \u201cPlayboy\u201d, which soon\nbecame the leading men\u2019s magazine in Greece. On September 1999, after a\nsequence of business successes, the company, under the guidance of Theo\nFilippopoulos, was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His business\nacumen soon led to strategic alliances which brought the company, which acquired\nthe rights for more international titles, such as Harper\u2019s Bazaar and Shape,\nand for Greek popular titles such as Tiletheatis and Tilerama,&nbsp; to the top\nof the Greek media market.&nbsp;During the years that followed, Attica\nPublications Group expanded its activities and developed a strong presence in\nthe northern European media scene through strategic joint ventures in Hungary\nand in Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the period\n2001-2008 Attica also founded subsidiaries in Bulgaria and Serbia, acquired a\n50% stake of \u201cProoptiki\u201d \u2013 the leading DVD and theatrical distribution company\nof the country, as well as three highly popular radio stations (Athens Radio\nDee Jay, Rock Fm and Lampsi). He is a graduate of Anavrita School and a\nsenior at the Department of Greek Civilization of the University of Patras. He\nspeaks English and German. He is married and a father of two children. He began\nworking as a journalist at \u201cApogevmatini\u201d newspaper in 1993.
