Ο Μητσοτάκης στη Σαουδική Αραβία: Πάνω από 25 δισ. ευρώ σε επενδύσεις για την πράσινη μετάβαση
Την εδραίωση του στρατηγικού χαρακτήρα των διμερών σχέσεων Ελλάδας-Σαουδικής Αραβίας επιδιώκει η ελληνική κυβέρνηση με την επίσκεψη του πρωθυπουργού στο Ριάντ.
Η Αθήνα αποδίδει μεγάλη σημασία στις σχέσεις με τις χώρες του κόλπου τόσο σε γεωπολιτικό επίπεδο όσο και σε συνεργασία στην ενέργεια. Ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης θα έχει σήμερα συνάντηση με τον διάδοχο της Σαουδικής Αραβίας Μοχάμεντ μπιν Σαλμάν όπου και θα συζητήσουν για τις εξελίξεις στην Ανατολική Μεσόγειο και για συνεργασία σε μια σειρά τομείς. Κατά την συνάντηση θα υπογραφεί από τον υφυπουργό Εξωτερικών Κώστα Φραγκογιάννη συμφωνία συνεργασίας στον τομέα των Θαλασσίων Μεταφορών. Ξεχωριστή ενότητα στην ατζέντα αποτελεί η προσέλκυση επενδύσεων ειδικά στον τομέα της πράσινης ενέργειας, όπου στρέφεται με δυναμισμό το Ριάντ.
Μητσοτάκης: Στόχος η πλήρης απολιγνιτοποίηση της Ελλάδας ως το 2028
Χθες ο πρωθυπουργός μιλώντας στο Middle East Green Summit, υπογράμμισε τον στόχο της Ελλάδας για πλήρη απολιγνιτοποίηση ως το 2028 και την στήριξη της Ελλάδας στους κλιματικούς στόχους της Ε.Ε. Ένα Φόρουμ – πρωτοβουλία της Σαουδικής Αραβίας, η οποία έχει θέσει φιλόδοξους στόχους για τη μείωση εκπομπών ρύπων και την εξισορρόπηση του αποτυπώματος των ορυκτών καυσίμων, μέσω της χρήσης τεχνολογίας «καθαρής» ενέργειας, για ανάπτυξη Ανανεώσιμων Πηγών Ενέργειας, διαχείριση υδάτων, μεγάλης έκτασης δενδροφύτευση.
«Καταβάλλουμε σημαντική προσπάθεια για την αύξηση του μεριδίου των ανανεώσιμων πηγών ενέργειας και ελπίζουμε ότι θα είμαστε μία από τις πρώτες μεσογειακές χώρες που θα εισαγάγουν ένα συγκεκριμένο πλαίσιο για την παραγωγή ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας μέσω υπεράκτιων αιολικών πάρκων στη χώρα μας. Και ελπίζουμε ότι θα έχουμε το σχετικό νομοθετικό κείμενο έτοιμο για δημόσια διαβούλευση εντός των επόμενων εβδομάδων. Στόχος μας είναι να έχουμε 2 GW υπεράκτιας αιολικής ενέργειας, ως μέρος του μείγματος παραγωγής της ηλεκτρικής μας ενέργειας μέχρι το 2030. Συνολικά, στοχεύουμε να κινητοποιήσουμε πάνω από 25 δισ. ευρώ σε επενδύσεις στην προσπάθειά μας να πετύχουμε τον στόχο της πράσινης μετάβασης», είπε ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης.
Ο πρωθυπουργός επισήμανε ότι λαμβάνουμε σημαντική στήριξη από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση για την επίτευξη αυτού του στόχου μέσω του Ταμείου Ανάκαμψης και Ανθεκτικότητας.
«Συνολικά θα διατεθούν στην Ελλάδα 32 δισ. ευρώ τα επόμενα επτά χρόνια και ένα σημαντικό μέρος από αυτά τα κεφάλαια θα διατεθεί για πράσινες επενδύσεις. Δίνω ιδιαίτερη έμφαση, στη θέση της Ελλάδας ως σημείου εισόδου της καθαρής ενέργειας στην ευρωπαϊκή αγορά», είπε.
Ο πρωθυπουργός θα έχει ακόμα συναντήσεις με επιχειρηματίες της Σαουδικής Αραβίας που δραστηριοποιούνται ή έχουν ενδιαφέρον να δραστηριοποιηθούν στην Ελλάδα, ενώ θα συμμετάσχει στο Φόρουμ Future Investment Initiative, το οποίο συγκεντρώνει τους σημαντικότερους επενδυτές του Κόλπου.
Ισχυροί οι δεσμοί Ελλάδας – Σαουδικής Αραβίας
Ελλάδα και Σαουδική Αραβία έχουν αναπτύξει σχέσεις και σε αμυντικό επίπεδο. Άλλωστε, τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2021 απεστάλη στο Ριάντ μια συστοιχία Patriot και προσωπικό των ελληνικών ενόπλων δυνάμεων, τους οποίους αναμένεται να συναντήσει σήμερα ο κ. Μητσοτάκης. Η Αθήνα αναπτύσσει ισχυρούς δεσμούς σε αμυντικό επίπεδο με τις χώρες του Κόλπου -έχει υπογράψει συμφωνία αμυντικής συνεργασίας με τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα- αξιοποιώντας και το βαρύ κλίμα που υπάρχει σε αυτές για τις κινήσεις της Τουρκίας.
Ο κ. Μητσοτάκης στις συναντήσεις που θα έχει σήμερα αναμένεται να τονίσει την ανάγκη σταθερότητας και συνεργασίας στην περιοχή της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου καθώς αυτό είναι προς το συμφέρον όλων των χωρών της περιοχής, αλλά, αποτελεί και αναγκαία συνθήκη για την μεταφορά ενέργειας προς την Ευρώπη, κάτι που αφορά άμεσα το Ριάντ. Ο πρωθυπουργός έκανε ειδική αναφορά κατά την χθεσινή του ομιλία στην συμφωνία με την Αίγυπτο για την κατασκευή ενός ηλεκτρικού καλωδίου διασύνδεσης που θα επιτρέψει την είσοδο πολύ φθηνής ενέργειας στην ευρωπαϊκή αγορά. Απευθυνόμενος προς το Ριάντ τόνισε ότι η Ελλάδα μπορεί να αποτελέσει «το φυσικό σημείο εισόδου για το υγροποιημένο φυσικό αέριο και για το υδρογόνο. Εάν υπάρξει ενδιαφέρον για εξαγωγή υδρογόνου στην Ευρώπη, η Ελλάδα θα είναι η πρώτη χώρα που θα καλωσορίσει αυτές τις εξαγωγές υδρογόνου και στη συνέχεια θα διασφαλίσει ότι θα μεταφερθούν στην ευρωπαϊκή αγορά».
