Το πρώτο υποβρύχιο μουσείο της Ελλάδας άνοιξε τις υποθαλάσσιες πύλες του το Σάββατο ανοιχτά της Αλοννήσου, στις ακτές της νήσου Περιστέρας και καθίσταται πλέον ο αρχαιότερος επισκέψιμος ενάλιος αρχαιολογικός χώρος.
Με εντυπωσιακό τρόπο έκοψαν την κορδέλα στα καταγάλανα νερά του Αιγαίου και σε βάθος 25 μέτρων, ο περιφερειάρχης Θεσσαλίας Κώστας Αγοραστός και ο δημοφιλής τραγουδιστής Σάκης Ρουβάς, οι οποίοι καταδύθηκαν υπό τα χειροκροτήματα της υπουργού Πολιτισμού Λίνας Μενδώνη, που παρακολουθούσε από απόσταση αναπνοής από σκάφος την πρωτόγνωρη εμπειρία των εγκαινίων του υποβρύχιου μουσείου του ναυαγίου της Περιστέρας.

Την ίδια ώρα εκατοντάδες καλεσμένοι, τουρίστες και Αλοννησιώτες παρακολουθούσαν τα δρώμενα στον βυθό από μια μεγάλη γιγαντοοθόνη στο λιμανάκι της Στενής Βάλλας, ενώ γύρω από το ναυάγιο με τους χιλιάδες ανέπαφους αρχαίους αμφορείς προσέγγισαν δεκάδες σκάφη για να παρακολουθήσουν από κοντά την τελετή.
Το υποβρύχιο μουσείο, που οριοθετήθηκε πολύ κοντά στις ακτές της ακατοίκητης νησίδας Περιστέρας και σε απόσταση αναπνοής από τις ανατολικές ακτές της Αλοννήσου, από την Δευτέρα 3 Αυγούστου και ως τις 2 Οκτωβρίου, θα είναι επισκέψιμο για το κοινό, που θα θελήσει να θαυμάσει τα εκθέματα στον βυθό του περίφημου ναυαγίου που ανάγεται στον 5ο π.Χ. αιώνα.
Μενδώνη: «Το ναυάγιο υποδέχθηκε και επισήμως τους πρώτους καταδυόμενους επισκέπτες»
Η κ. Μενδώνη σε δηλώσεις της στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ αναφέρθηκε στην σπουδαιότητα της ανάδειξης των ευρημάτων και τόνισε ότι «το ναυάγιο υποδέχθηκε και επισήμως τους πρώτους καταδυόμενους επισκέπτες».
«Μετά από πολύ συστηματική προσπάθεια αποδίδεται έστω και πιλοτικά μέχρι τον Οκτώβριο και έπειτα συστηματικά, στους κατοίκους της Αλοννήσου, στην Ελλάδα και στη διεθνή κοινότητα», δήλωσε η υπουργός Πολιτισμού, προσθέτοντας ότι «η Αλόννησος έχει το μοναδικό συγκριτικό πλεονέκτημα να έχει αποφύγει τη λαίλαπα του τουρισμού τις προηγούμενες δεκαετίες, έτσι έχει ένα εξαιρετικά σημαντικό φυσικό περιβάλλον και κυρίως έχει ένα θαλάσσιο περιβαλλοντικό πάρκο. Αυτός ο συνδυασμός του περιβαλλοντικού πάρκου και με έναν ενάλιο υποθαλάσσιο αρχαιολογικό χώρο της δίνει ένα πολύ μεγάλο προβάδισμα σε σχέση με πολλές άλλες περιοχές της χώρας μας και της Μεσογείου. Ούτως ή άλλως η σύγχρονη τάση για τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη είναι ο στόχος μας, ο στόχος της κοινωνίας, όχι μόνο της ελληνικής αλλά του πλανήτη. Μόνο μέσα από τα πλαίσια της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης μπορούμε να μιλάμε και για ζωή και για ανάπτυξη. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, αυτός ο συνδυασμός του περιβάλλοντος και τους πολιτισμού δημιουργεί προϋποθέσεις για μια τεράστια υπεραξία στη συγκεκριμένα περιοχή. Μία υπεραξία συμβολική αλλά και πραγματική. Υπό αυτή την έννοια θεωρώ τον εαυτό που πάρα πολύ τυχερό που σήμερα εκπροσωπώντας και τον πρωθυπουργό τον κ. Κυριάκο Μητσοτάκη, είχα την χαρά, την τύχη και την τιμή μαζί με τον περιφερειάρχη Θεσσαλίας, τον κ. Κώστα Αγοραστό, αγαπητό φίλο, να αποδώσουμε σε όλο τον κόσμο τον υποθαλάσσιο χώρο του ναυαγίου της Περιστέρας. Ενός ναυαγίου εξαιρετικά σημαντικού καθώς είναι από τα πρωιμότερα, από τα παλαιότερα που έχουμε όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα και στη Μεσόγειο αλλά και στον κόσμο».
Αγοραστός: «Ανεβάζουμε την Ελλάδα πιο ψηλά στην πιο δύσκολη στιγμή»
Ο περιφερειάρχης Θεσσαλίας Κώστας Αγοραστός, για τον οποίο η ανάδειξη των θησαυρών του αρχαίου ναυαγίου υπήρξε ένα όνειρο ετών, ήταν φανερά ενθουσιασμένος για το αποτέλεσμα και μεταξύ άλλων είπε: «Ανεβάζουμε την Ελλάδα πιο ψηλά στην πιο δύσκολη στιγμή. Στη δυσκολότερη στιγμή εμείς δεν παραδινόμαστε, δεν σηκώσαμε τα χέρια ψηλά όπως κάνουν ορισμένοι και κλαίνε πάνω από τις στάχτες. Δώσαμε και δίνουμε καθημερινή μάχη για να μπορέσουμε να σηκώσουμε την Ελλάδα, τη Θεσσαλία, τις Σποράδες, τον τουρισμό μας πιο ψηλά. Είναι ένα εργαλείο τουρισμού. Ευχαριστώ την υπουργό Λίνα Μενδώνη που ενστερνίστηκε, το είδε, το αγκάλιασε και το έκανε πράξη. Γιατί τόσα χρόνια δεν γινόταν πράξη. Ευχαριστώ την Ελπίδα Χατζηδάκη που ήταν η πρώτη που το ανάσκαψε. Συνεχίζουμε και σε συνεργασία με την υπουργό αξιοποιούμε άλλα τέσσερα ναυάγια που έχουν εντοπιστεί στην περιοχή και έχουν περάσει από το ΚΑΣ και προχωρά η διαδικασία να γίνουν επισκέψιμα. Η Αλόννησος, η Θεσσαλία και η Ελλάδα αποδίδουν στην ανθρωπότητα τον “Παρθενώνα των υποβρυχίων Μουσείων”. Το ναυάγιο της Περιστέρας είναι από άποψη μοναδικότητας ισάξιο με τον Παρθενώνα γιατί είναι το αρχαιότερο ναυάγιο που μπορεί να καταδυθεί άνθρωπος στον πλανήτη. Εδώ ενώνουμε δυνάμεις, κερδίζουμε με πράξεις. Και ενώσαμε τις δυνάμεις μας όλοι. Αυτό είναι ένα μήνυμα προς όλους: Να ξέρουν να συνεργάζονται, να αγαπούν τα πράγματα με τα οποία ασχολούνται, να τα πιστεύουν, να βάζουν στόχους και να τους πετυχαίνουν. Εμείς πήραμε τα ναυάγια τα αναδείξαμε και τα αναδεικνύουμε, αναβαθμίζουμε τον τουρισμό, τον πολιτισμό και τους ανθρώπους. Γιατί εδώ δουλεύουν άνθρωποι. Φέρνουμε το μέλλον στο παρόν, προδιαγράφουμε το μέλλον. Τίποτα δεν είναι ακατόρθωτο. Χρειάζεται συνεργασία και ένωση δυνάμεων».
Πώς θα γίνονται οι καταδύσεις στο υποβρύχιο μουσείο
Οι καταδύσεις θα γίνονται είτε από ελεύθερους-ερασιτέχνες καταδύτες, είτε με την συνοδεία δυτών από καταδυτικά κέντρα που εξειδικεύονται στην Αλόννησο.
Το περίφημο ναυάγιο, που θεωρείται από τα σημαντικότερα της κλασσικής αρχαιότητας, λόγω του ανέπαφου και μεγάλου αριθμού των ευρημάτων, ανακάλυψε το 1985 ο Αλοννησιώτης ψαράς Δημήτρης Μαυρίκης κοντά στη δυτική βραχώδη ακτή της Περιστέρας, σε βάθος 28 μέτρων. Επρόκειτο για ένα μεγάλο εμπορικό πλοίο εκείνης της εποχής, μάλλον αθηναϊκό, το οποίο εκτιμάται ότι έπεσε σε μεγάλη κακοκαιρία και βυθίστηκε εκεί περίπου το 425 π.Χ. Το πλοίο φαίνεται πως ήταν φορτωμένο με χιλιάδες αμφορείς κρασιού από την Πεπάρηθο (τη σημερινή Σκόπελο) και την Μένδη (αρχαία πόλη της Χαλκιδικής) δύο περιοχές πολύ γνωστές στην αρχαιότητα για το εξαιρετικής ποιότητας κρασί τους.
Σύμφωνα με τους ειδικούς εξερευνητές ο σωρός των αμφορέων, που εκτείνεται στο βυθό σε μήκος 25 μέτρων, δίνει την αίσθηση του περιγράμματος και των μεγάλων διαστάσεων του πλοίου.
Ο Σάκης Ρουβάς εγκαινίασε το υποβρύχιο μουσείο
Ο Σάκης Ρουβάς που έκοψε την κορδέλα του υποβρύχιου μουσείου, μαζί με τον Κώστα Αγοραστό εντυπωσιασμένος από το θέαμα στον βυθό είπε: «Είχα τη μεγάλη χαρά και την τιμή να καταδυθώ στο πρώτο επισκέψιμο ναυάγιο της χώρας στα ανοιχτά της Αλοννήσου, έπειτα από πρόσκληση του περιφερειάρχη Θεσσαλίας, Κώστα Αγοραστού. Πρόκειται για μια σπουδαία εμπειρία καθώς το ναυάγιο της Περιστέρας, με τους 4.000 αμφορείς, είναι το αρχαιότερο ναυάγιο στον κόσμο, χαρακτηρίζεται από άποψη μοναδικότητας ως ο “Παρθενώνας των ναυαγίων”, ενώ καθιερώνει, πλέον, τη χώρα μας στο “χάρτη” του παγκόσμιου καταδυτικού τουρισμού. Συγχαρητήρια στο υπουργείο Πολιτισμού, στην Εφορεία Εναλίων Αρχαιοτήτων, καθώς και στην περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας και σε όσους συνέβαλαν στην πραγματοποίηση αυτού του σημαντικού έργου».
Παρούσα στην τελετή των εγκαινίων του υποθαλάσσιου μουσείου στην Αλόννησο ήταν και η δημοφιλής ηθοποιός Μιμή Ντενίση, η οποία όχι μόνο εξέφρασε τον θαυμασμό της και τα συγχαρητήριά της προς τον Κώστα Αγοραστό για την ανάδειξη των μοναδικών θησαυρών του υποβρύχιου μουσείου, αλλά εντυπωσιάστηκε και από την ομορφιά της Αλοννήσου, αφού όπως είπε ήταν η πρώτη φορά που επισκέφθηκε το νησί και θα φύγει με τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις, ενώ παρότρυνε τον κόσμο να επισκεφθεί το πανέμορφο νησί των Σποράδων.
Το ιστορικό ναυάγιο στην Αλόννησο
Το ναυάγιο βρίσκεται σε βάθος που κυμαίνεται μεταξύ 21 και 28 μέτρων από την επιφάνεια της θάλασσας και είναι εντός της προστατευόμενης περιοχής του Εθνικού Θαλάσσιου Πάρκου Αλοννήσου – Βορείων Σποράδων, στοιχεία που καθιστούν το αρχαίο ναυάγιο της Περιστέρας έναν προορισμό που ενδιαφέρει κάθε έμπειρο αυτοδύτη.

Το έργο προετοιμάστηκε στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος διασυνοριακής συνεργασίας BLUEMED και θα συνεχιστεί με τη χρηματοδότηση του ΠΕΠ Θεσσαλίας ως το 2023. Το έργο «σταθμός», που αναμένεται να καθιερώσει την Ελλάδα στον «χάρτη» του παγκόσμιου καταδυτικού τουρισμού, έχει ήδη αποσπάσει σημαντικά βραβεία από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, ενώ έχει αναδειχθεί από κορυφαία διεθνή ΜΜΕ όπως οι New York Times, Lonely Planet, Daily Mail, Travel & Leisure και παρουσιάσθηκε στις Βρυξέλλες τον περασμένο Οκτώβριο.
